Ishtar Hotel was established in 1997 by the Turki family. In 2001 the middle brother, Naim Turki, began managing the hotel with a focus on excellent quality and service.  He speaks fluent English and French, has wide experience in the hotel and tourism industry and has good advice for traveling around Syria. 
Ishtar Hotel is recommended by many travel guide books including Lonely Planet, Footprints, Rough Guide, Le guide du routard and Le petit futé.
